At Kejimkujik the activities and places to explore are seemingly endless! Known colloquially as Keji, this park covers an impressive 404 square km’s, and is the only Parks Canada site that is also designated as a National Historic Site. The many waterways through the park land include 4 rivers and 8 lakes, with the highlight being Kejimkujik Lake, which is a popular and peaceful swimming spot. Canoes and Kayaks can be seen charting the rivers and lakes, and are available for rent inside the park.
15 well maintained hiking trails of varying length and difficulty meander throughout the forest and marshes, where you can spot frogs, turtles, ducks, salamanders, beavers, porcupines and many other animals who call the park home. In addition there are the seaside trails, which bring you to the expansive coastal beaches and bays, where you can observe harbour and grey seals year round, basking on the rocks and fishing in the ocean.
With more to do here than can possibly be experienced in a single day, the park provides excellent camping at Jeremys Bay Campground. This campground includes 253 regular tent sites and 104 sites with electrical hookups and washroom, shower and fresh water facilities throughout. For the rugged camper seeking a more rustic experience, Keji also offers backcountry campsites. 46 beautiful backcountry campsites, some of which are accessible only by canoe, offer a unique and immersing wilderness experience.
